4 I’s Of Oppression


In order to fully grasp the need for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility we must take a minute to understand the role of Oppression. Oppression is a system for gaining, abusing and maintaining structural and institutional power for the benefit of a limited dominant class. 

Oppression plays out in a myriad of ways – Institutional & Interpersonal forms of oppression are often enacted in workplaces that lack diversity. Raising questions about equity and identity and underscoring the need for accessibility will help cultivate an inclusive workplace environment.
