Causes of Stress at Work

Some situations that cause stress are those that are unpredictable or uncontrollable – like job security or the company’s financial difficulties. Some situations that cause stress are ambiguous or unfamiliar like office policies and norms. Other situations involve conflict or performance expectations. Stress may be caused by time limited events, such as the pressures work deadlines, or by ongoing situations, such as family demands, job insecurity, or long commuting.
